I’ll try to give you the low down on cheap lift kits around the net with this article. I’m going to cover a couple different areas because I don’t know if you are looking for suspension lift kits, body lift kits for trucks or even a lift kit for a golf cart. I’ll just look around for the best prices and give you each below.
Almost all dealers that sell lift kits are going to sell suspension as well as body lift kits. For the most part anyway. I’m going to dig a little deeper though and see who sells cheap lift kits in each area.
On my initial searches for cheap lift kits the first avenue was looking at the used route. So I checked out a few 4 x 4 forum and came up with a few things to look for and look out for when shopping for used cheap lift kits. First, the usual reason you will find them is that someone went for a higher lift, pulled the 2” lift kit out and now just want a few bucks for it to put towards the higher lift kit.
Some great places to check are the local autotrader, Craigslist and E-Bay. Those are the easiest searches for cheap lift kits because you can do it at home. Keep in mind that if you go more than 2.5″’s you will require more parts like pitman arms, adjustable track bars, trackbar brackets, brake line extension brackets/new lines, driveshaft adjustments and a few other things to make things fit.?
I also checked out Amazon because sometimes find cheap lift kits on there, not really sure why but the prices are usually good if you can find something that fits. The only frustrating thing with the online searches is that after you spend a good amount of time looking around to find a sweet deal, then making decisions on the one set up you want. You find out they do not ship to your country! Or that the shipping costs bring you right back up to the price you would have paid at your local off road dealer.
If the lift kit has hit the trails, look out for bent parts and that the springs are the same length. These days there are more and more people putting lift kits on their vehicles just to look good on the pavement and these are sweet deals if you can find them because of the light use on the parts.
After that it’s time to hit the local junk yard in search of cheap lift kits. All the rules above will apply, maybe run some cross checks for compatibility as well just to be safe.
On the less conventional approach you can put out a general feeler on the off road sites as well. Just tell the forum members that you are looking for cheap used lift kits and from my experience you will get more than enough replies to make a choice from. You’ll end up doing a ton of google searches though to find pictures and descriptions of the manufacturer’s part name and so on and searches for compatibility.
If you know of any places not mentioned where you can find cheap lift kits, it would be great if you could contact us through the comments section below with your information. It will help me with my Blazer and I’m sure others could use the information as well.
